The gnolls and murlocs aren't very helpful. Being the typical angry monsters of low threat and low intelligence, they attack you on sight. You do get a couple of pieces of what might be evidence, though. Along with any food or copper you might find on those of the gnolls and murlocs who you might kill in self-defense when they start trying to hit you, you do also find a worn red cloth and a piece of what looks like propaganda. The bits of the propaganda that are legible seem to promote freedom and "rebirth".
Turn these in to Laine and the others. Maybe they'll know something about these objects. Look around the scene. There might be some clues nearby.
