Westfall

Next to the wagon, you see three men in Stormwind investigator outfits kneeling over the corpses of a farmer couple and their horse. "It’s a bloodbath, Laine," says one of the investigators to another, who appears more smartly dressed than the other two. "The Furlbrows were murdered. Given their body temperatures, I’m certain they’ve been killed recently. No more than 6 hours ago, I’d say." "Damn shame," says the third investigator. "The Furlbrows were some of the best folks around here, not to speak of the horse. Look what they did to her!" "No kidding, rookie," says Laine. "Looks like they really put the cart…before the horse." "Don’t know if this helps," you cut in, causing all three to turn and look at you, "but I was just talking to a man who’s recently left the scene. He’s off to meet some friends, I think. They might be worth talking to, might have seen something." Laine regards you with faint interest. "So someone is going to go talk to some other people," he says. "Not as bad a lead as some of the ones my boys have come up with. Well, kid, I was going to send someone to an informant of mine named Lou who might know something about these parts. Do you think this is a better lead or not? I might look into your fishy lead if you look into mine."

Take Laine’s advice and go find Lou. Give Laine a hard stare, then very politely suggest he take what he perceives to be the better lead, while you go off in the direction Mattsson left in. Hopefully, if you walk fast enough, you’ll be able to catch up with him.
