Concerned by Laine's untimely demise, the Marshal allows you to improve the Hill's defenses, finally recognizing your technological genius. You don't have a spare moment to develop Laine's photographs, especially once Kearnen spots a giant ship going by. The Marshal demands you stop it, and lo and behold, who is commanding the ship but a goblin! He however disavows all responsibility in typical goblin fashion. Luckily you have an alibi that you thoughtfully brought with you: The photographs. And his ship makes a nice dark place to develop them in. Kearnen nods knowingly when she first catches sight of the developed photographs. "Mortwake. Those zombies following him would be the Furlbrows." It's now a familiar drive to his tower. Mortwake is faffing about outside his tower and seems almost pleased to see you. "DO YOU APPRECIATE MY HANDIWORK?" he calls over your engine's loud growl. "Go to hell, Mortwake," Kearnen quietly growls under your engine. You shut off the engine. Now you can hear Mortwake's quieter, but still loud, comments to his zombies. They do look like the Furlbrows. "And here everyone thinks I am a pyromaniac," he says. "Hahahahaha! I just take advantage of the chaos to raise you into undeath. Really, the Defias in Moonbrook burn things! I just raise zombies! Hoohoohoohoohoo!" "Actually," the goblin whispers to you, looking up nervously at Kearnen taking up a sniper position pointed at Mortwake, "the kingpin is in Sentinel Hill..."
Why would you listen to him? Just let Kearnen shoot Mortwake and go off to Moonbrook. Actually, going to Moonbrook would involve listening to Mortwake. Let Kearnen shoot him and go to Sentinel Hill. But why let Kearnen shoot him at all? You could get to Moonbrook faster without that. Now, if you started driving for Sentinel Hill now, you wouldn't have to worry about any of this except listening to Mortwake. Of course, listening to Mortwake isn't a problem if you recruit him to raise a zombie army. So maybe you should listen to everyone at once and take Mortwake back to Sentinel Hill to raise a zombie army there? Wait a minute...
